Renault India is offering significant price cuts on its car models, with potential savings reaching up to ₹96,395. These reductions are a direct result of the recent GST 2.0 reforms. The new prices will be in effect starting September 22, 2025, coinciding with the Navratri festival. Bookings at the reduced prices are already open. According to Venkatram Mamillapalle, MD of Renault India, the company is fully committed to passing the GST benefits to its customers. This initiative aims to make Renault vehicles more accessible and boost sales during the upcoming festive season. The Kwid model will see price reductions up to ₹55,095, the Triber offers savings up to ₹80,195, and the Kiger provides the highest benefit, with savings reaching ₹96,395, making the entire Renault lineup more appealing. The GST Council recently adjusted tax rates, lowering the tax slab on small vehicles and two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent. Electric vehicles will maintain a 5 percent tax rate. This adjustment will lead to lower prices for smaller cars and motorcycles, while SUVs and bikes above 3500cc will be taxed at 40 percent. The price cuts will provide direct savings to customers and are expected to increase sales during the festive season, particularly during Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali. Renault’s move follows a similar price cut by Tata Motors, reflecting how automakers are swiftly adapting to the new GST structure. The Renault Kiger is equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, various drive modes, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, multiple airbags, a tire pressure monitor, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, 3-point seatbelts, leatherette seats, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a multi-view camera, a wireless charger, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps, and a 6-speaker audio system with 3D Arkamys surround sound. The Renault Kiger comes with two engine options: a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine that produces 72hp and 96Nm, and a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that delivers 100hp and 160Nm. The NA engine is available with a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine offers a CVT gearbox along with a 5-speed manual.
