The FNG (Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad) expressway, which has been stalled for 13 years, is now seeing renewed progress, offering hope for improved connectivity. The Noida Authority and PWD are engaged in discussions to tackle the project’s pending issues. This 56 km expressway, with 23 km under Noida’s jurisdiction, has prompted authorities to consider modifications to the implementation plan. The new Detailed Project Report (DPR) presents potential routes for the unfinished segments, with a final selection pending approval. A key component of the project is a six-lane bridge over the Yamuna River, which will connect Noida and Faridabad. The bridge’s construction is estimated to cost around Rs 200 crore and will be funded jointly by Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Noida is also working on infrastructure enhancements, including an elevated road and two underpasses, to enhance the FNG route. This project is expected to benefit more than 30 sectors and over 1,000 industries, addressing traffic issues in the NCR region.
