    The Government of India, through its Ministry of Home Affairs, has issued orders promoting seven officers from the Chhattisgarh Police Service to the Indian Police Service. The official notification was dated August 27, 2025.

    The selection was based on the 2024 selection list approved by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on August 26, 2025. This list was prepared at a meeting of the selection committee held on August 6, 2025. According to the list, seven officers of the Chhattisgarh State Police Service (SPS) have been promoted to the IPS.

    The following officers have been promoted:

    * Pankaj Chandra (born June 21, 1972)
    * Bhawana Pandey (born November 11, 1974)
    * Vimal Kumar Bais (born July 1, 1968)
    * Harish Rathore (born July 6, 1971)
    * Vedvrat Sirmaur (born February 22, 1972)
    * Rajshree Mishra (born June 19, 1970)
    * Shweta Srivastava Sinha (born July 8, 1977)

    The Ministry of Home Affairs’ directive indicates that the officers will be assigned to fill seven vacant posts within the Chhattisgarh cadre. This promotion has increased the motivation of the officers and brought a wave of enthusiasm among other officers of the state police service.
