Government Steps Up Efforts to Regulate Online Gaming, Curbing Massive Financial Losses

Despite the government’s attempts over the past three and a half years, including efforts through GST, real-money gaming players continued to disregard regulations. The bill’s provisions were drafted following complaints from the public. The primary goal is to prevent widespread financial ruin caused by online real-money gaming, with an estimated ₹20,000 crore lost annually by approximately 45 crore people.
