GST 2.0 Ushers in New Era: S-Presso Becomes India’s Most Budget-Friendly Car

The S-Presso saw the greatest price reduction, with its starting price now at 3.50 lakh rupees. The Alto K10’s price starts at 3.70 lakh rupees. The primary reason for the price drop is the variation in safety features. The government has instituted a regulation requiring all new vehicles to have six airbags. Maruti has launched the Alto K10 and Celerio with these updates, while the S-Presso still only has two airbags. This feature discrepancy explains its lower price. It remains a good option for buyers looking for the cheapest car. Small petrol cars now have a tax cut of up to 10 percent. The tax was reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent, and the cess was removed. This impacts the on-road price, making cars more accessible in India.
