Ram Kapoor has publicly acknowledged making inappropriate remarks during a promotional event for his web series ‘Mistry,’ leading to his removal from promotional activities by JioCinema. The platform took action following the alleged comments made during a press event at JW Marriott, Juhu. Present at the event were co-star Mona Singh and senior JioHotstar executives. The remarks, which included a comment about media pressure that was perceived as offensive, drew considerable criticism. Kapoor admitted, “I am guilty as charged.” He explained that he often speaks casually when comfortable and that his statements may have caused offense. He added that he had not realized his words were hurtful during the event. Kapoor also provided clarification of his comment regarding a woman’s dress, stating that he had first requested the men in his view to relocate. He acknowledged that this situation is a significant challenge in his career. He expressed his understanding that his behavior needs to evolve and that he respects JioCinema’s decision. Furthermore, he has vowed to personally apologize to each member of the team. ‘Mistry,’ a Hindi adaptation of ‘Monk,’ directed by Risab Seth, is scheduled to premiere on June 27 on JioHotstar. The series stars Ram Kapoor, Mona Singh, Shikha Talsania, Kshitish Date, and Dipak Dhar.
