During the search operation of Hawkforce Special Operation Group in the forest area of Parastola Chicharangpur near Kanha National Park of Baihar police station, the team has succeeded in arresting Sajanti, wife of Ganesh (32), a female Naxalite with a reward of Rs 14 lakh on her head. Sajanti is a hardcore Naxalite of KB division, on whom a total of six serious crimes are registered in MP. A pistol with magazines, an axe and other items have also been recovered from her.

According to police information, during the search operation, when the police party was returning with the female Naxalite Sajanti, about 30 to 40 shots were fired at the police party by other Naxalites of KB division in the area with the aim of freeing their fellow members.

The police party fired 10 to 15 rounds in self-defence. Due to the retaliatory action by the police, other naxalites took advantage of the darkness and fled into the dense forest. Sajanti Kanha is a member of Khatia Morcha Area Committee of Bhoramdev Division and hails from village Nainguda under Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. Sajanti joined the naxal organisation in 2011 and was working as an active member of Khatia Morcha Dalam under KB Division in MMC Zone in 2016.
