The Indian film fraternity is mourning the loss of accomplished Kannada actor Harish Rai, who passed away on November 6 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Rai was particularly known for his significant role in the blockbuster ‘KGF’ films, starring alongside Yash.

His funeral service was a somber event, attended by many from the film fraternity who came to pay their respects. Yash, who shared the screen with Rai in the ‘KGF’ movies, was visibly present, offering his condolences to the bereaved family. He was also seen comforting Rai’s son, a gesture captured in viral video clips.

Harish Rai had openly discussed the significant financial challenges he faced during his cancer treatment. He had revealed the high cost of his medication, mentioning that a single injection cost over ₹3.55 lakh, and that multiple injections were required per cycle, leading to substantial expenses over his year-long fight against thyroid cancer.

Reflecting on his bond with Yash, Rai had previously stated that while he admired Yash’s generosity and knew he would help, he was hesitant to repeatedly ask for financial assistance. He expressed that Yash was just a call away, despite being occupied with his next project, ‘Toxic’.

Rai’s career spanned many successful Kannada films, including ‘Samara’, ‘Jodihakki’, and ‘Sanju Weds Geetha’. His role as Khasim in the ‘KGF’ series significantly amplified his fame and endeared him to a vast audience.
