There are 1054 posts of medical officers and 2,374 posts of specialists vacant in the state.

    Highlights

5,329 Medical Officer posts approved in the state More than 1 thousand Medical Officer posts vacant Recruitment started for 895 Medical Officer posts

State Bureau, Naiduniya. Bhopal: The state is expected to get 895 doctors by the end of this year. Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission has started the process of filling these posts. The selection list will be released after the interview in October-November. Posting may take place in December. All these posts are of medical officers.

    Apply by 29 September

At present, out of 3,723 sanctioned posts of specialists in the state, 2,374 are vacant and out of 5,329 posts of medical officers, 1,54 are vacant. The rules of recruitment are the same as before, no changes have been made in it. Doctors will be able to apply for these posts till 29th September.

Exemption to doctors on contractual service

The maximum age limit for recruitment has been fixed at 40 years, in which doctors serving on contract for more than five years will get relaxation equal to the years of service. However, even after this the maximum age limit should not exceed 55 years. By filling these posts, doctors will be available in more than 475 primary health centers of the state which are currently without doctors.

The post is vacant even after continuous recruitment

Despite continuous recruitment of doctors in the state, more than one thousand posts of medical officers and more than two thousand posts of specialists remain vacant. The main reason for this is that out of the total posts for which the recruitment process is started, only about 60 percent of them are filled every time.

Even after direct recruitment on 25 percent posts of specialists, 63 percent posts are vacant. Due to the vacancies of posts of anesthesia and pediatricians, gynecologists, even cesarean delivery of pregnant women in emergency situations is not being done in all the designated hospitals, while Madhya Pradesh has the highest infant mortality rate in the country.
