Consumers who order groceries online, especially milk and bread, must be cautious. It is essential to inspect expiration dates upon delivery. An investigation by the Delhi food department, prompted by consumer complaints, unveiled serious concerns about the practices of e-commerce companies. The inquiry showed companies removing or altering expiry dates to sell products past their expiration dates. As a consequence, a unit in South Delhi has been sealed. The case started with a customer complaint regarding the receipt of moldy bread. Another instance involved a delivery company removing the date from garlic bread. This issue is not isolated; similar cases have been reported monthly.
