Commissioner orders upgrades to HMIS and patient care standards
The commissioner began the surprise visit by reviewing the functionality of the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) at both facilities. After testing the digital platform, she instructed senior officials to streamline data entry and reporting, ensuring that patients receive faster and more accurate services.
In Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Maternity Home, detailed statistics on admitted patients, deliveries in the past month, and maternal‑infant health indicators were collected. The commissioner emphasized the need for high‑quality medical care and urged the administration to address any gaps promptly.
At Diwaliben Mehta General Hospital, she surveyed the presence of doctors, nurses and support staff on duty, as well as ongoing repair and maintenance works, reinforcing the importance of completing all pending tasks within stipulated timelines.
