A catastrophic fire in Bihar’s Masaurhi area has resulted in the tragic deaths of two young children, plunging Danada village into collective grief. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in a thatched structure, highlighting the perils of rural living.

Around 2:30 PM, under Bhagwanganj police jurisdiction, a sudden inferno swept through the shed where 7-year-old Priyanshu and 3-year-old Mansi were left playing. Their father, Vikas Kumar, was in the fields with other relatives when the alarm was raised by rising smoke.

In a desperate bid, Vikas and neighbors battled the flames, but the children had already succumbed. ‘I lost both my son and daughter in an instant. We returned to our native village just days ago,’ Vikas wept, explaining the family had brought the kids from their aunt’s home in Chachasi for official paperwork.

Police swiftly cordoned the area, with SHO Sujeet Kumar confirming, ‘Preliminary findings show the siblings were alone. Fire origin is being probed meticulously.’ The bodies underwent post-mortem, as the village mourns the irreplaceable loss.

This devastating event calls attention to systemic issues like lack of fire safety awareness and emergency response in remote Bihar villages. Community leaders are urging better safety measures, while the family grapples with unbearable pain. Priyanshu and Mansi’s story resonates far beyond Danada, a stark warning against complacency.
