    Ranchi. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren took oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time on Thursday. Governor Santosh Gangwar administered him the oath of office and secrecy at Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi. Hemant Soren took oath alone. It is being told that after the government receives the trust vote, the remaining members of the cabinet will be sworn in. However, leaders of almost all the parties of the opposition alliance were present at the oath taking ceremony of Hemant Soren.

    About 20 big leaders from 10 parties of the opposition alliance ‘India’ attended the oath ceremony. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav were present at the oath-taking ceremony. Before taking the oath, Hemant Soren, citing opposition unity, said that unity is our strength.

    The Chief Minister was to be sworn in at four o’clock. Before that, at 3 pm, Hemant Soren reached the venue holding the hand of his father Shibu Soren. Before taking the oath, Hemant said- Today will be a historic day. Our unity is our biggest weapon. We can neither be divided nor appeased. We are Jharkhandi and Jharkhandi do not bow down. After the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute by garlanding the statue of the immortal brave martyr Sido-Kanhu in Sido-Kanhu garden. His wife Kalpana Soren was also with him. Also, after the martyrdom of Agniveer Jawan Arjun Mahato of Chandankiyari, Bokaro, his brother Balram Mahato was given appointment letter.

    After swearing in, Chief Minister Hemant Soren held the first cabinet meeting. In this, approval was given to start the session of Jharkhand Assembly from December 9. This special session will continue till December 12. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will seek trust vote during this session. The pro tem speaker will be Stephen Marandi, who will administer the oath to the newly elected members.

    Hemant Soren decided to increase the amount of Maiya Samman Yojana to Rs 2,500 from the first day of December and asked the officials to ensure it. It was also decided that a special all-party committee will be formed to provide facilities to the people of Jharkhand working in the tea gardens of Assam. The report in this regard has been submitted to the Jharkhand government.
