The Lebanese government and army recently held a meeting where a plan was presented to give the government and the army exclusive rights to possess and use weapons. This effectively means that groups like Hezbollah would not be permitted to have their own arms.

Hezbollah, a major political and armed organization in Lebanon, has not directly opposed this plan. Instead, their leader, Mahmoud Komati, told Reuters that the meeting represented an opportunity to return to logic and reason. This suggests a preference for avoiding further conflict, as the group fears that escalating tensions could push the country toward turmoil and chaos.
