The Kerala High Court dropped a bombshell on Monday, decrying the Sabarimala gold theft case as evidence of a blueprint-like robbery targeting deity treasures. In a division bench session on Sannidhanam theft petitions, reports from inspections were deemed gravely concerning, casting shadows on guardians who may have orchestrated the heist.

Irregularities abounded in gold works, notably gold-clad door panels. The VSSC preliminary report lent credence to theories of replaced authentic gold sheets. ‘We need forensic science to confirm if these are ancient or fresh installs,’ the court emphasized.

Ordering SIT re-examination on January 20, precise gauging and probing of panels, doors, and gold elements—including historical ones—were approved. Scientific dating and quality checks for every plate are non-negotiable.

Detailed depositions from VSSC team members were summoned, as their technical dossier requires amplification. SIT can rope in top specialists. Though the operational blueprint of the felony is scientifically pinned, divulging intricacies now risks probe integrity.

Findings scream of orchestrated syndicate activity, the bench noted—not petty larceny, but institutionalized pillage of temple riches. Alarm bells rang over insider involvement among asset protectors.

SIT briefed that 13 are jailed judicially, more cuffs likely soon. Gold melting trails are hot pursuits; accounts frozen to expose dirty money. Case returns February 9.
