Marking a significant push for youth in politics, BJP leader Anurag Thakur launched the ‘Yuva Changemaker’ fellowship in Himachal Pradesh. Echoing PM Narendra Modi’s vision, the program seeks to harness youthful vigor for India’s growth trajectory toward becoming a developed nation.

In Dharamshala, Thakur shared details with the media. Timed with Basant Panchami, registrations begin January 25 on Himachal Day, running online till March 23. Expecting massive turnout of over 10,000, the selection unfolds via district boot camps, a week-long state camp, and a finale announcing victors.

The prize: 21 fellowships offering Rs 1,21,000 for a year-long internship. Transparent vetting by experts scores 40% theoretical knowledge and 60% hands-on skills. Thakur highlighted village stays: ’24 hours to identify and solve local problems—real test of leadership.’

Winners receive dedicated 100-member volunteer squads to effect change in assigned regions. The curriculum includes collaborating with elected officials on legislation, community service, and scheme rollout.

‘Youngsters eager to work with MLAs or MPs, influence policies, and drive development—this is their platform,’ Thakur stated. The initiative addresses how youth can elevate Himachal, blending aspiration with action.

With its structured approach and incentives, ‘Yuva Changemaker’ is more than a program; it’s a launchpad for future policymakers, promising grassroots transformation.
