Uttar Pradesh’s saints are up in arms over UGC’s controversial new regulations, warning of impending caste conflicts that could shatter Hindu unity. Protests ripple through multiple districts, with demands for reversal growing urgent amid fears of social fragmentation.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand minced no words in his critique. ‘Birth doesn’t dictate justice or injustice—every caste harbors saints and sinners alike,’ he observed. He accused the UGC of igniting inter-caste hostilities, a move he deemed catastrophic for Hinduism. ‘Immediate cancellation is essential to prevent irreversible harm,’ he insisted.
Painting a grim picture, the Swami alleged a calculated plot by authorities to provoke Hindu infighting. ‘Why engineer battles between brothers? This governance reeks of malice—what’s the hidden agenda?’ he probed, rallying support for unity.
Commenting on Bareilly City Magistrate Alankaar Agnihotri’s resignation, he praised the bold stand. ‘Such a drastic step from a high-ranking official mirrors the profound hurt to Sanatan Dharma followers. It stands as a historical indictment of the UP government’s actions,’ Swami noted.
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya has escalated the discourse by petitioning Prime Minister Modi. ‘Retract the UGC norms, or allow me euthanasia,’ he implored. Citing risks to 35 percent of general category female students, he warned of heightened exploitation, rising crimes, and eroded access to quality education for meritorious candidates.
The saints’ unified front marks a pivotal challenge to the status quo. With spiritual authority lending gravity to the debate, the controversy transcends academia, touching core issues of equity, security, and cultural preservation. The ball is now in the government’s court to defuse tensions before they erupt.
