In a ringing endorsement, Lithuania’s Ambassador to India, Dana Mikneviciene, has proclaimed the EU-India Free Trade Agreement as the ‘mother of all agreements’—a historic milestone with transformative potential. During an in-depth discussion, she delved into its expansive reach, profound ambition, and strategic geopolitical edge.

Far exceeding conventional trade pacts, this deal links Europe’s economic powerhouse with Asia’s rising star, both champions of democracy. Amid worldwide instability, it exemplifies how open trade can fortify alliances between like-minded nations.

The ambassador spotlighted immense business prospects, from flooded markets to fortified supply lines. India’s pivotal supply chain role will deepen with EU synergy, elevating its global footprint. She commended India’s trade strides and envisioned dazzling prospects ahead.

Lithuania’s story adds a compelling layer: a compact economy that flourished via EU integration, now eyeing amplified gains through Indian collaboration. Annual trade of 400 million euros scratches the surface of possibilities, with key industries set to boom under the FTA.

Vilnius plans outreach to arm traders with knowledge on slashed tariffs, efficient processes, and prime access. Boasting per capita earnings of 29,000-30,000 euros, Lithuanians crave top-tier Indian offerings.

As global trade wars rage, particularly with American tariffs, the EU-India accord stands resilient. Mikneviciene anticipates few obstacles, thanks to unwavering resolve. Collaborative efforts in customs and governance will enhance interoperability, cementing a legacy of economic harmony.
