Prime Minister Narendra Modi lit up New Delhi on Tuesday with the announcement of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, calling it a pioneering blueprint for collective prosperity. Far from a standard trade accord, this pact with the EU’s 27 countries stands as India’s most ambitious FTA, poised to redefine bilateral relations.

Indian farmers and small businesses gain unprecedented entry into European markets, while manufacturing sectors eye expansion and services partnerships strengthen. The agreement also ramps up investments, spurs cutting-edge collaborations, and secures global supply lines against disruptions.

In his visionary remarks, PM Modi affirmed shared commitments to multilateral principles and institutional reforms for modern challenges. The duo plans expansive tri-lateral projects from the Indo-Pacific to the Caribbean, advancing clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and women’s empowerment.

Bilateral trade has surged to 80 billion euros, supported by 800,000 Indians in Europe. Culminating ten years of talks, this monumental deal will touch 2 billion people and 25% of global economic activity, paving the way for enduring shared success.
