Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, met with officers in Delhi who played a critical role in the recent anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. He congratulated them on the significant success of these operations.

Shah stated that the Modi government is steadfast in its commitment to eliminate Naxalism from India. In a statement on social media, he expressed his intention to visit Chhattisgarh to meet the courageous jawans who were instrumental in the operations’ success.

These anti-Naxal operations have been conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh under the direction of the Union Home Minister. A major operation was carried out by the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, in the interior areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21. On May 21, an encounter in the forests of Boter village resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, and the seizure of a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

The officers recognized by Amit Shah included Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj, Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh.
