Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah praised the work of Chhattisgarh officials involved in recent anti-Naxal operations during a meeting in New Delhi. He congratulated them on the success achieved in these operations, emphasizing the government’s dedication to eliminating Naxalism. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh attended the event.

Shah, in a social media post, highlighted the successful operations and expressed his enthusiasm to meet the soldiers who contributed to their triumph. He stated he would soon visit Chhattisgarh to meet them. The Modi government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism was reiterated.

Anti-Maoist operations continue in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. An operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police between May 18 and May 21, 2025, in the Abujhmad region, which included DRG forces from various districts, led to an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of Boter village. This resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, and the recovery of a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition.

Several police officials were honored, including the Director General of Police, for their contributions to the operations. Senior officials from the Union Home Ministry and the Intelligence Bureau were present at the event.
