Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a recall for its Africa Twin motorcycles. This recall impacts all models of the adventure bike manufactured between 2019 and 2025. The number of affected motorcycles is yet to be specified. The recall has been initiated due to a problem with the wiring of the left handlebar switch.

The issue revolves around the harness wires within the handlebar, which are subjected to repeated flexing during steering. This can cause corrosion and lead to poor connections. As a result, owners might experience issues such as a malfunctioning horn or difficulty switching between low and high beam headlights.

Honda will offer free replacements of the faulty components at its BigWing showrooms across India, starting from the last week of January 2026, regardless of the warranty status. Customers will be contacted directly by Honda through phone calls, emails, or messages to schedule service appointments at authorized service centers. This recall is not a first for the Africa Twin model in India. Previously, in November 2024, a recall was issued for units manufactured between February and October 2022, addressing ECU-related issues as part of a global initiative.

The Africa Twin is recognized globally as a leading adventure motorcycle, equipped with a 1,084cc parallel-twin engine producing 100 horsepower and 112 PS of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox; a DCT automatic transmission option is also offered. The ex-showroom price for the manual version of the Honda Africa Twin starts around ₹16.01 lakh, and the DCT variant starts at ₹17.55 lakh. The motorcycle features a TFT touchscreen display, cruise control, a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), ABS, HSTC, Bluetooth connectivity, four riding modes, and dual LED headlights with daytime running lights.
