Recognizing the need to stay competitive, Honda is investing in diverse energy platforms to meet the growing demand for hybrid vehicles. Honda will implement a new multi-level Energy platform. Honda’s upcoming hybrid cars will use the new PF2 modular platform. This versatile platform will support various powertrains, including hybrids, ICE, and EVs. Honda will use this platform for its small and medium-sized vehicles, targeting both domestic and export markets. Honda aims to localize production to manage costs, with an expected price range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh for the new vehicles. A new three-row SUV, expected to debut by 2027, will be the first model based on the PF2 platform. It will be positioned above the Elevate and compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari. A sixth-generation City e-Sedan is also planned, offering both petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options, with a launch in 2028. Honda may be developing an all-new SUV based on the PF2 platform, possibly with the Elevate’s 1.5-liter petrol engine.
