A fresh appeal from Nashik’s saint leaders aims to defuse the volatile Shankaracharya controversy gripping Prayagraj. Following Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s standoff with officials at the iconic Sangam Ghat, Mahant Ramsnehi Das and Mahant Baijnath have implored for a path of humility and harmony.

In measured tones, they warned against letting disputes erode the stature of these spiritual pinnacles. ‘Resolution lies in honorable conversation, not confrontation,’ Mahant Baijnath declared, as a disciple of Guru Nityanand Gopal Das.

He lamented the unfortunate treatment of Brahmin children, labeling it a misstep, and called on the experienced Shankaracharya to illuminate the way forward with intellect and grace.

Mahant Ramsnehi Das reinforced the message, reminding all of the Magh Mela’s deeper purpose beyond ritual baths—saintly fellowship, devotional service, and selective sacred dips in the Ganga. ‘Vow to humility in every affair,’ he urged, cautioning against personal interests overshadowing collective peace.

Both emphasized safeguarding spiritual legacies, noting how saints’ words and deeds echo eternally. Society anticipates moral compass from them, demanding thoughtful conduct.

Nationwide buzz post the Ghat clash makes this call resonant, offering a beacon of restraint when pilgrims and the public crave stability and enlightenment.
