Hyundai is preparing to launch a facelift version of its Verna mid-size sedan. Recent sightings of camouflaged test vehicles on Indian roads suggest that the new Hyundai Verna facelift is expected to be launched in early 2026. The company is concentrating on design upgrades, in line with its previous facelift strategies.

The forthcoming Verna will retain the signature taillight design that spans across the car’s rear, enhanced with new LED elements to refine its appearance. The rear bumper will also be restyled for improved aesthetics. While current spy photos predominantly focus on the rear design, major changes are anticipated for the front fascia. The design is likely to incorporate elements from the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata, including a bolder front grille, larger projector headlamps, and sleek LED DRLs.

The interior of the facelifted Verna is not expected to undergo major changes. However, Hyundai may introduce new features such as a larger infotainment display, a refreshed instrument cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, and an improved ADAS safety suite. The current Verna model starts at ₹10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The new facelift model is expected to have a slightly increased price. Upon its release, it will compete with the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

The engine options for the new Verna are anticipated to remain consistent with the current model. These include a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or IVT gearbox. Additionally, a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, offering 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, will be available, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
