The complete field of 20 teams for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been officially determined, with the tournament set to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The final three nations to secure their spots were confirmed this week: Nepal, Oman, and the UAE, all emerging victorious from the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier.

Nepal’s qualification means they will compete in their third T20 World Cup, and second consecutively. Oman will be making their fourth appearance, while the UAE returns for their third time, and first since the 2022 edition. Italy is another notable team set to make their T20 World Cup debut, having successfully advanced through the European Qualifier, alongside the Netherlands.

India enters the 2026 event as the reigning champions, having clinched the 2024 title against South Africa. They are among the elite few nations to have won the T20 World Cup multiple times, alongside England and the West Indies. The tournament structure will consist of 20 teams divided into four initial groups of five. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Eights round, which will feature two groups of four. The semi-finals will be contested by the top two teams from each of these Super Eights groups.

The 20 teams confirmed for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup are: India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, and UAE.
