Cricket enthusiasts worldwide are dissecting the freshest ICC T20I rankings released Wednesday, where Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav’s resurgence steals the show. After battling form woes in 2025 that saw him ousted from the top 10 sans a half-ton, SKY has stormed back with a five-place surge to seventh.

His exploits in New Zealand—171 runs in three T20Is, boasting two not-out fifties and a top knock of 82—have been game-changing in the ongoing series. This hot streak marks a perfect start to 2026 for the dynamic right-hander.

Abhishek Sharma continues to rule the batsmen’s roost at numero uno for India. Trailing him are Phil Salt (2nd, England), Tilak Varma (3rd, India), Jos Buttler (4th, England), and Sahibzada Farhan (5th, Pakistan). Pathum Nissanka (6th, Sri Lanka), SKY (7th), Travis Head (8th, Australia), Mitchell Marsh (9th, Australia), and Tim Seifert (10th, New Zealand) complete the top tier, with the last three each losing a rung.

On the bowling front, Varun Chakaravarthy spearheads from India, with Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka), and Jacob Duffy (New Zealand) in hot pursuit at 2-4. Abrar Ahmed up one to fifth (Pakistan), Adil Rashid sixth (England), Mustafizur Rahman up five to seventh (Bangladesh), Nathan Ellis eighth (Australia), Mujeeb ninth (Afghanistan), and Adam Zampa tenth (Australia).

As India eyes series glory, these rankings signal their growing T20 prowess on the global stage.
