The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update for Delhi and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Despite clear conditions in Delhi and Noida today, the IMD predicts that humidity may rise. A rain alert is in effect, with light rain and thundershowers expected over the next two days. Heavy rain is anticipated on September 9. The monsoon remains active in Delhi, potentially leading to afternoon showers with stronger winds, which may persist into the night. Similar conditions are anticipated the next day. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected on September 9, followed by light clouds and gentle winds through September 12.

Meanwhile, the weather has shifted in Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Kushinagar in eastern Uttar Pradesh because of a cyclonic storm from the Bay of Bengal. Light rain and thundershowers are predicted for Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for September 10 and 11. Gorakhpur may experience light cloud cover in the coming days, potentially becoming densely cloudy by Wednesday.

Across the nation, heavy rain is likely in isolated areas of western and northwestern India. Western Rajasthan is expected to receive heavy rain on September 9. Heavy rain is also predicted for Uttarakhand from September 6-8 and 12. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi may experience heavy rain on September 6. Eastern Rajasthan and Gujarat may receive heavy rain on September 8. Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra are expected to see very heavy rain from September 6-7. Rainfall may increase in eastern and western Rajasthan on September 7. The Meteorological Department urges residents in these areas to prepare for heavy rains and strong winds.
