IMD’s Double Whammy: TN Red Alert for Deluge, North Faces Cold & Fog

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a critical red alert for Tamil Nadu, forecasting copious amounts of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. This intense weather system is expected to bring considerable disruption to the state. Across the northern parts of the country, a different set of challenges is emerging. Punjab is facing a significant cold wave, while Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Odisha have been placed under a yellow alert due to anticipated dense fog. Commuters in affected areas, particularly Delhi, are warned of reduced visibility and advised to exercise caution.
