Guyana Amazon Warriors secured a commanding 83-run win against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in a CPL 2025 match. A highlight of the match was the outstanding performance by a 46-year-old player from Guyana, who played a crucial role in his team’s victory. This spinner’s exceptional bowling saw him dismiss half of the Falcons’ team in just 24 balls.

The Amazon Warriors, after batting first, scored 211 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Shai Hope scored 82 runs off 54 balls with six fours and five sixes. Shimron Hetmyer made 65 runs not out off 26 balls, with five fours and five sixes. Romario Shepherd scored 25 not out from 8 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons were bowled out for 128 runs while chasing the target. Imran Tahir, the captain of the Amazon Warriors, took 5 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs, including one maiden over. He took the wickets of Shakib Al Hasan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, Shammar Springer, and Obed McCoy. This marked Tahir’s fourth 5-wicket haul in T20 cricket.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons’ batsmen struggled, with Karima Gore scoring 31 runs and Bevon Jacobs 26 runs. Fabian Allen scored 22 runs. No other batsman performed well. Apart from Imran Tahir’s bowling, Romario Shepherd and Dwaine Pretorius took two wickets each for Guyana. Gudakesh Motie got one wicket.
