India reiterated its commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict at the United Nations. Parvathaneni Harish, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, expressed India’s concern about the situation in Ukraine, emphasizing the need to protect innocent lives. India believes that a solution to the conflict cannot be found on the battlefield. India has consistently maintained that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable pathways to end the war, no matter how challenging. The involvement and commitment of both countries are vital for lasting peace. Ending the war quickly is in everyone’s interest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly stated that this is not an era of war, and India is ready to support diplomatic efforts. India welcomes the recent positive developments, including the Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The country appreciates the progress made at the summit. India also acknowledges Trump’s diplomatic efforts with the Ukrainian President and European leaders in Washington D.C. Prime Minister Modi is currently engaging with President Putin, President Zelensky, and European leaders regarding the situation.
