A significant meeting took place in Moscow on August 7, where National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Russia’s Secretary of the Security Council Sergey Shoigu explored ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Russia. The Russian Embassy in India reported the meeting, focusing on bolstering the special and privileged strategic partnership. Prior to this meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Doval at the Kremlin, as stated by the Russian Embassy in India. During the discussions, Doval noted that the dates for President Putin’s visit to India are in the final stages of preparation. Doval highlighted the exceptional and long-standing relationship between India and Russia, acknowledging the value of their strategic partnership. He shared his enthusiasm about the impending visit of President Putin to India, pointing out the historical significance of summit meetings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia in July of the previous year, and both he and President Putin reaffirmed the unique character of their time-tested relationship, which is based on trust, mutual understanding, and strategic convergence. They positively assessed the multifaceted, mutually beneficial India-Russia relations that span political and strategic, military and security, trade and investment, energy, science and technology, nuclear, space, cultural, education and humanitarian cooperation. Both sides are actively working to discover new areas for cooperation while strengthening cooperation in traditional areas. The 11th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation was held in the national capital on Wednesday, within the framework of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.
