Hanuma Vihari, a seasoned Indian Test cricketer currently out of national contention, is making a significant statement in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 with consecutive centuries. Vihari’s unbeaten 143 against Assam for Tripura, in the fourth-round match at Agartala, marks his second hundred in as many innings, following his 141 against Bengal. This consistent scoring demonstrates his current batting prowess.

The right-hander showcased a balanced approach against Assam, combining solid defensive techniques with aggressive hitting to reach 143 not out from 215 deliveries, with 17 fours and a six. His efforts helped Tripura post 316/4 by the end of the day’s play. Vihari, who has 839 runs from 16 Test appearances, is actively seeking a return to the Indian team.

His fighting spirit was famously on display during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar series, where his immense concentration and partnership with Ashwin in Sydney earned India a draw and kept the series alive. Vihari is now bringing that same determination to the domestic arena.

Meanwhile, the Ranji Trophy’s fourth round saw Musheer Khan and Siddesh Lad score centuries to steer Mumbai to 289/5 against Himachal Pradesh after a top-order collapse. Delhi was dismissed for 211 by Jammu and Kashmir, who then slipped to 31/3. Centurions for Jharkhand (Kumar Kushagra) and Uttar Pradesh (Madhav Kaushik, Aryan Juyal) also highlighted the day’s play.
