Two main suspects linked to the murder of political activist Osman Hadi have successfully fled to India via the Meghalaya border, according to Dhaka police. Additional Commissioner SN Nazrul Islam detailed that Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Sheikh utilized the Haluaghat crossing in Mymensingh to enter Indian territory shortly after the assassination. Police sources indicate that the suspects were received by an individual identified as Purti and subsequently transported to Tura, Meghalaya, by a taxi driver named Sami. While official confirmation is pending, Bangladeshi authorities have received informal intelligence suggesting that Purti and Sami may have been detained by Indian law enforcement. Dhaka is maintaining close contact with India, employing both formal diplomatic and informal law enforcement channels, to expedite the arrest and extradition process for the wanted individuals. Osman Hadi, a prominent activist who was critical of previous government policies, was shot and later died in Singapore. His murder triggered widespread protests and attacks on media outlets, contributing to a climate of unease and heightened political tensions.
