Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the Indian T20 team, has decided to donate his match fees from all Asia Cup matches to the Indian Army. The decision was made following India’s victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final held in Dubai. This followed an earlier dedication of the first match win in the tournament to the Indian Army and the families of those impacted by the Pahalgam attack.

In the final game in Dubai, the contributions of Tilak Varma, who scored a half-century, and the partnerships formed with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube were critical in India’s win against Pakistan. This victory earned India its second T20 International Asia Cup title, bringing their total to nine titles, including the one-day international format.

    **Donation of Match Fees**

Post the victory against Pakistan, Suryakumar Yadav announced he would be donating his match fees to the Indian Army. However, the post-match award ceremony was marked by an unusual moment. The Indian team chose not to accept their medals or the trophy, leading to some disappointment among spectators and the team. Mohsin Naqvi, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) representing Pakistan, was to present the trophy, but the Indian players declined to receive it. The team proceeded to celebrate their win on the field without the trophy.

    **Tribute in the First Match**

India’s Asia Cup 2025 campaign began on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium against Pakistan, where the Indian team secured a win. Suryakumar Yadav, during the presentation after that match, dedicated the victory to the Indian Army and those affected by the Pahalgam attack. His commitment to donate match fees to the Indian Army following the final highlights his continued support.
