The Indian cricket team emerged victorious in the Asia Cup 2025 final, defeating Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India won by 5 wickets. The team’s performance throughout the tournament was outstanding, as they won all three matches against Pakistan. Recognizing this achievement, the BCCI decided to reward the players and support staff with a significant sum of 21 crore rupees. This move aimed to celebrate the victory and motivate the team for upcoming challenges. The decision by the BCCI was praised by cricket fans.

The series was highly anticipated, being the first time the cricket teams from both countries met after the Pahalgam attack on April 22 and Operation Sindoor on May 7, which resulted in 26 fatalities. The matches were played amidst heightened tension. A notable observation was the lack of handshakes between the Indian and Pakistani players after any match, including the final. This generated considerable discussion.

This triumph represents India’s 9th Asia Cup title in the 17 editions of the tournament. India previously won in 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 2010, 2016, 2018, and 2023. The Indian team has proven to be the most successful in the tournament and has successfully defended its title.
