Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Japan to attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit. The visit, spanning two days, began with a ceremonial welcome at Haneda International Airport. The agenda includes a business program, meetings with prominent Japanese figures, and a special presentation of a Daruma doll. The annual summit is a primary component of the visit.

The four-day journey encompasses Japan and China, with a focus on bolstering trade and investment with Japan and normalizing ties with China. Prior to the trip, PM Modi expressed that it would strengthen India’s national interests. The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to deepen existing partnerships and explore new avenues of collaboration. The visit will involve the annual summit with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. There is anticipation of Japan doubling its investment in India and the signing of agreements in areas of defense, technology and other major sectors.
