The absence of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, who typically attend such sessions, was particularly noteworthy. During the optional practice session, Harshit Rana, a young fast bowler, stood out. He demonstrated skills in both bowling and batting. His efforts could mean he will be included in the playing 11 against Oman. The tournament could present a significant opportunity for him as he hasn’t yet played. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh also worked on his bowling. Arshdeep Singh, India’s most successful T20I bowler, is yet to play in the tournament. If Jasprit Bumrah is rested against Oman, Arshdeep Singh could be the team’s first choice.
