The 2025 Asia Cup between India and Pakistan was filled with controversy. The tournament, marked by heightened tensions, saw another incident unfold during the final. Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha chose not to speak with Indian commentator Ravi Shastri at the coin toss, causing a stir.

The anticipation before the tournament was high, and the on-field matches were no different. All eyes were on the final, hoping for a change in the situation, but an unexpected event occurred before the game.

Ravi Shastri had conducted the coin tosses for India throughout the tournament, including the previous India-Pakistan matches. For the final, Waqar Younis, former Pakistan captain and commentator, was present. Agha’s refusal to speak to Shastri was the cause. Therefore, during the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav spoke to Shastri, while the Pakistani captain spoke to Waqar Younis.

It’s rare in cricket history to see each nation’s commentators conducting the toss interviews with their respective captains.
