The Women’s ODI World Cup, beginning on September 30, will feature India playing Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. The highly anticipated India versus Pakistan match is confirmed for October 5 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This decision was made considering the ongoing political tensions between the two nations. India is also scheduled to face Bangladesh in Bengaluru on October 26. Defending champions Australia will start their campaign against New Zealand on October 1 in Indore, also playing Pakistan in Colombo on October 8, and meeting England in Indore on October 22, replicating the last final. As per the hybrid hosting agreement, all of Pakistan’s matches will be hosted in Colombo. Their schedule includes matches against Bangladesh, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. England will play South Africa, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand. Bangladesh will play Pakistan, with other matches in Visakhapatnam, and a game against Sri Lanka in Colombo. South Africa is scheduled to play against New Zealand and Australia in Indore. Due to strained diplomatic relations, Pakistan’s matches will be held on neutral grounds, after India declined to tour Pakistan. The tournament will have 28 league matches and three knockout fixtures in various cities. The first semi-final is planned for Guwahati, but could be moved to Colombo if Pakistan reaches the semi-finals. The second semi-final will be held in Bengaluru. The final venue will be decided between Bengaluru and Colombo.
