Three militants had been killed in an encounter with safety forces at Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday, police stated.
The police recognized the three as Suhail Nisar Lone, Yasir Wani and Junaid Ahmad, all from Pulwama. “They had joined militancy this year,” IGP (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar stated.
The IGP stated two of the three slain militants had been concerned within the assault on the home of BJP chief Anwar Khan on Thursday wherein a J&Ok Police constable was killed. The police stated that weapons, together with the firearm stolen from the constable who was killed, had been recovered.
Kumar stated two of the militants concerned in Thursday’s assault had been affiliated to the Lashkar-e-Toiba and two to Al Badr. A search is on for the remaining two militants who had been concerned in Thursday’s assault.
“Of the four militants involved in Thursday’s attack, two were from Pulwama and two from Srinagar. After interrogating an OGW [overground worker] yesterday, we traced the militants’ whereabouts to Kakapora in Pulwama,” Kumar stated.

He stated the automobile utilized by the militants on Thursday to flee after the assault was discovered “parked outside the house where the encounter took place” in Pulwama.

According to the police, a girl sustained a bullet harm within the crossfire, whereas two others had been injured by pellets throughout a stone-pelting incident after the encounter. “All three had minor injuries and are being treated,” Kumar stated.
Speaking on the current spate of assaults in Kashmir, Kumar stated: “Threat remains for all political parties. Everyone has a different level of threat and it is correct that BJP has a higher level of threat. We are reviewing security arrangements for this.”
