A government school teacher in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh has been arrested based on allegations of sexual harassment made by 24 female students. The students, from classes 8th to 10th, informed the school principal about the incidents, detailing instances of inappropriate touching by the mathematics teacher. The parents, once informed, also voiced their concerns, leading to the teacher’s arrest and remand to police custody for three days. The teacher has been suspended, and a preliminary inquiry is being conducted by the Director of School Education.
