Punjab’s security landscape got a major upgrade with the induction of 2,577 new police personnel at a spectacular parade in Jalandhar’s PAP campus. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who inspected the troops, hailed it as a milestone in the state’s policing evolution.
Gratitude poured from DGP Gaurav Yadav, who credited CM Mann’s presence for inspiring the DSPs, SIs, and constables fresh from grueling sessions at MRS PAP Phillaur, PRTS Jahan Khelan, and ISTC Kapurthala. Their X post emphasized the recruits’ readiness to deliver professional policing.
In his address, Mann celebrated Punjab Police’s legacy of bravery, officially onboarding about 2,600 warriors. He outlined future expansions, targeting 3,400 hires in 2026. Reflecting on governance post-2022 elections, he spotlighted relentless investments in state-of-the-art police infrastructure.
Security updates included the Gurdaspur station attack with Pakistani links—two perpetrators nabbed, one taken down in a firefight. Mann boasted of Punjab’s elite training facilities, coveted nationwide yet strained by demand. ‘We’re building a force for the future,’ he concluded, inspiring the ranks.
As these recruits march into duty, Punjab eyes a safer tomorrow, blending tradition with modernity in its law enforcement vanguard.
