Gurugram faced massive traffic congestion on Monday after heavy rainfall, resulting in a 7-kilometer-long traffic jam. Roads were significantly impacted by waterlogging, causing major delays for commuters. The situation was worsened by Metro service delays attributed to a signaling issue. Social media platforms were filled with posts from individuals stuck in the gridlock, sharing videos and expressing their dissatisfaction. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram reported that the city received over 100 mm of rain between 3 PM and 7 PM. An Orange Alert has been issued by the IMD for heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 2, 2025. The authorities advised corporate offices and private institutions to adopt work-from-home policies and instructed schools to hold online classes.
