70 Delhi Teams Battle LPG Hoarding Amid Supply Rumors
1 min readCalm prevails in Delhi’s LPG market, thanks to swift government intervention. On Sunday, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa detailed 70 teams mobilized to inspect stocks and dismantle black marketing operations.
Drawing from police, Weights and Measures, and Food Supplies, these units are market watchdogs. They’re verifying reserves, exposing hoarders, and enforcing regulations rigorously. ‘Kitchen gas is plentiful,’ Sirsa assured, countering panic.
He cautioned wrongdoers: illegal dealings will face consequences. Opposition’s fear tactics, he argued, only empower racketeers. With Gulf supply snags and viral rumors, shoppers rushed cylinders—deja vu from demonetization and COVID scares—but public wisdom shines through.
Commercial supplies resume per central guidelines, partnering OMCs for essentials: medical facilities, dining spots, academia, and milk producers. Around 1,800 cylinders daily (20% average) roll out via 19-kg formats, booked first-come-first-served for fairness.
Oversight teams balance commercial and residential priorities seamlessly. CM Rekha Gupta’s hands-on daily assessments fortify the effort. ‘No worries needed,’ Sirsa said. ‘Full supply assured to every home.’
Delhi’s strategy transforms threats into triumphs, securing energy reliability.
