Recent political discourse has focused on the relationship between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Amidst reports suggesting friction, particularly concerning the BJP’s national president, Ram Madhav provided clarity. He stated that the BJP and the RSS share the same ideological roots and clarified there are no disagreements. He explained that the two function in distinct spheres: politics and social service. Madhav dismissed the reports as rumors that arise when there is a lack of other issues to discuss. He also noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s positive recognition of the RSS’s 100 years during the Independence Day address. Speculation arose after the BJP announced new state presidents but the announcement of the national president was delayed, and due to the remarks of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The RSS, however, has denied these claims. Madhav emphasized that PM Modi’s message during his Independence Day speech had a positive effect on the workers, recognizing the RSS’s work and the volunteers as an inspiration.
