In a bold step towards AI-powered education, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan convened a roundtable at IIT Delhi with 10 trailblazing EdTech startups. Discussions centered on deploying artificial intelligence to elevate India’s schooling, from basics to advanced skills, in line with NEP 2020’s vision.
State ministers Sukanta Majumdar and Jayant Chaudhary participated actively. Highlighted startups—Arivihan, Fermi AI, Khare AI, Seekho, SpeakX, SuperKalam, Supernova, Vedantu, ConveGenius, and Vironan—presented solutions revolutionizing school curricula, competitive coaching, skill-building, and language acquisition, with a focus on reaching marginalized communities.
Timed before the India AI Impact Summit, this forum fosters public-private synergy for educational equity.
Adding momentum, Pradhan laid foundation stones for Rs 430 crore infrastructure upgrades. The groundbreaking Academic Block-103 rises 10 stories over 5 lakh sq ft, boasting 31 classrooms, 150 research labs, 150 faculty rooms, meeting halls, food courts, and banks.
The expansive Girls Hostel-50 (3.9 lakh sq ft) caters to 1,400 residents with bespoke rooms featuring cupboards, study nooks, chargers, and a dining area. Sustainability is core: solar installations, rainwater systems, tree protection, and green initiatives ensure minimal environmental impact.
Prof. Rangan Banerjee, IIT Delhi Director, joined ministry representatives, teachers, and pupils at the event. India’s education ministry is aggressively pursuing AI and infrastructure to create a resilient, future-ready learning ecosystem.
