The Kochadhaman assembly seat has been won by AIMIM candidate Md. Sarwar Alam, who achieved a commanding victory. Alam received 81,860 votes, outperforming his nearest opponent, RJD’s Mujahid Alam, by a margin of 23,021 votes. Mujahid Alam secured 58,839 votes in the election. Situated in Bihar’s Kishanganj district, Kochadhaman is a general-category assembly constituency that came into being after the 2008 delimitation. The constituency’s boundaries encompass the entire Kochadhaman block, in addition to the Belwa, Mehangaon, Gachchhpara, Chakla, Daula, and Pichhla gram panchayats within the Kishanganj block. Notably, the Kochadhaman seat has a history of being won by Muslim candidates since its inception. This electoral pattern was previously established by JDU’s Mujahid Alam, who won the 2014 by-election and held onto the seat in 2015.
