Air India has decided on changes regarding employee retirement, setting the retirement age for pilots at 65 years and for other employees at 60 years. Previously, the retirement age for both pilots and other staff was 58 years. The decision to adjust the retirement age was made public during a town hall meeting led by CEO and MD Campbell Wilson. The revised retirement policy will allow Air India pilots to work until 65, with other staff retiring at 60. The total workforce at Air India is approximately 24,000, including around 3,600 pilots and about 9,500 cabin crew members. No details were available about whether the cabin crew’s retirement age, currently 58 years, would also be affected.
