Assam CM Speeds Up Mega Projects After Progress Review

Via a post on X, Sarma outlined robust power preparations: last summer’s 2,950 MW peak demand eyes 3,100 MW now, met head-on by vigilant distribution companies under his instructions. Future-proofing includes close oversight of thermal, solar, and pumped storage ventures for enduring energy security.
Central to discussions was the Kamakhya Access Corridor project enhancing Maa Kamakhya Temple access. ‘Legal processes wrapped up; construction accelerates soon,’ Sarma announced, envisioning superior devotee facilities that honor tradition while embracing modernity.
The ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ investment haul—over Rs 5 lakh crore from early 2025—saw strong progress: over 60% in execution pipelines, many launched. Sarma directed quicker ground-breaking and pledged stakeholder meetings. ‘These will be game-changers,’ he asserted, eyeing economic revolution.
Sarma concluded optimistically: ‘Previous accomplishments gratify me. Energized, we’re set to amplify Assam’s growth trajectory.’ This meeting underscores a proactive governance model driving Assam forward.
